Sarah studies conservative religious organizations and their beliefs about gender and sexuality. Sarah's most recent work is on white evangelical sexual politics in the era of Trump. Sarah has recently published work on the epithet "no homo" with CJ Pascoe in Sex Roles, and has other work in Gender & Society and forthcoming in Signs. Sarah is currently a Scholars Strategy Network Postdoctoral Fellow, and is based at the University of Utah while she conducts research on Utah's high rate of youth suicide, with a focus on sexual identity and religiosity. Sarah has a PhD in Sociology from The University of Washington.
